• College of Lake County receives $6 million from Schreiber Philanthropy (philanthropynewsdigest.org) — Students in Grayslake will see new support after the College of Lake County received a $6 million gift from Schreiber Philanthropy. The funding will create a substantial scholarship program, bolster emergency aid for essentials like food and utilities, and expand childcare services, all aimed at helping more local students stay in school and complete their degrees. 
• Girls basketball: Wauconda topples Grayslake Central to take NLCC lead, improve to 15-0 (dailyherald.com) — Grayslake Central’s girls basketball team fell 56–45 on the road to undefeated Wauconda, losing sole possession of first place in the Northern Lake County Conference. The Rams struggled from three-point range and never led, despite strong free-throw shooting and repeated comeback attempts. Wauconda’s win was its first over Grayslake Central in more than 20 years.
