ViewFinder: Polar Plunge

Grayslake Police officers went off to see the Wizard, taking the plunge to raise money for Special Olympics.

The Grayslake Police Department went off to see the Wizard, dressed as characters from the Wizard of Oz to take a plunge into cold waters at Lakefront Park in Fox Lake. The officers joined more than 200 others on Feb. 27 for the 2011 Fox Lake Polar Plunge.

The event overall raised about $46,000  for Special Olympics.
