Yard Waste Clean-Up Week April 9-13

The Village of Grayslake will offer free yard waste collection services next week.

Grayslake Village officials announced that yard waste clean-up week willΒ begin on Monday, April 9 and run through Friday, April 13.

Residents may set out anΒ unlimited amount of yard waste at the curb by 6 a.m. on their regular garbage pickup day. There is no cost to residents for this service.

This free pick-up will occur oneΒ time only during yard waste clean-up week. Any yard waste must adhere to disposalΒ guidelines below.Β After yard waste clean-up week, residents have additional yard waste disposal options:Β

  • Weekly yard waste pick-up service begins April 16.Β 
  • Weekly yard waste pick-up will begin the week of April 16 and continue throughΒ November 30. Β 
  • Weekly yard waste pick-up will take place the same day as garbageΒ pick-up. Residents may set out up to six (6) bags, marked cans, or bundles of yard wasteΒ per week. Each parcel must have a yard waste sticker and adhere to the yard wasteΒ disposal guidelines.Β Yard Waste StickersΒ Stickers for yard waste bags and containers are $1.80 per sticker. Β 
  • Stickers may beΒ purchased at Jewel/Osco and Ace Hardware on Route 120 in Grayslake.Β Other Yard Waste Disposal OptionsΒ Waste Management also offers a yard waste subscription service and one-time pick-upΒ option.Β 

The Yard Waste Subscription Service includes weekly pick-up of up to six (6) bags,Β marked cans, or bundles of yard waste per week. This service runs from April throughΒ November for a seasonal fee of $75.Β A One-Time Pick-Up of up to six (6) 32 gallon cans, paper bags, or bundles of yard wasteΒ can be arranged for a flat fee of $10 per pick-up.Β Residents interested in the yard waste subscription service or a one-time pick-up shouldΒ contact Waste Management directly at (800) 796-9696 to set-up these services.Β

  • Yard waste consists of grass clippings, leaves, trimmings, branches, and other materialΒ accumulated as a result of the care of lawns, shrubs, and trees.Β 
  • Yard waste (up to 50 pounds) must be placed in brown paper yard waste bags orΒ plastic garbage containers (up to 32 gallon can size) clearly marked β€œyard waste."
