Robin Lif Sworn In As New Lockport City Alderwoman

Lif will serve the remainder of Alderman Patrick McDonald's term.

LOCKPORT, IL — At its Wednesday meeting, the Lockport City Council approved the appointment of Robin Lif for the remainder of Alderman Patrick McDonald's term after his death last year.

McDonald had served as an alderman since 2022. He died in November after an 18-month battle with cancer.

Lif will now serve the remainder of the unexpired term, which expires in 2027.

According to Council documents, Lif has been a Lockport resident since 1994. She, and her husband, Ron, have raised two daughters who attended Lockport schools.

Life and her husband run Likar Insurance Agency in Lockport, council documents state. Robin has also served on the Lockport Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as Treasurer, and volunteers at Old Canal Days. She has is also president of the Lockport Area Genealogical and Historical Society.
