12-Year-Old-Girl Accosted By Pervert In Street

A 12-year-old schoolgirl was accosted by a pervert while she was walking to her bus stop Friday morning.

The child was walking near the corner of Casseday Avenue and Benton Street shortly after 7 a.m. when a man grabbed her by the arm and pulled down his pants, exposing his penis. The man tried forcing the girl toward his crotch as he said something to her in Spanish but she broke free and ran for the bus stop, police said.

The man took off in the other direction, cutting through yards as he headed west.

Police said the man appeared to be in his 30s. He had short black hair and a mustache, and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The girl told officers her attacker was “dirty in appearance,” police said.
