Drunken Joliet Woman Nearly Crashes Into Memorial Stadium Fence: Cops
The Joliet woman's blood-alcohol level was more than four times the legal limit for driving, police said.

A drunken Joliet woman with a blood alcohol level more than four times the legal limit for driving ran her car off the road and nearly crashed into the Memorial Stadium fence, police said.
Amanda Rose Esparza, 34, rolled through a red light at the corner of West Jefferson Street and Infantry Drive shortly after 7:30 a.m. Monday, then ran off the road, through a ditch and slowed to a stop just before hitting the fence, police said.
A passerby went to help Esparza, police said, but she drove off, only to stop in the parking lot of Inwood Ice Arena.

The law arrived and suspected Esparza might be drunk, police said, but she was too intoxicated to perform field sobriety tests. Esparza was then taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, where tests showed she had a blood-alcohol content of .359 percent, more than four times the .08 percent legal limit for driving.
Esparza was taken from the hospital to the Will County jail.
