Elderly Woman Caught With Pink Stun Gun At Joliet Central HS Metal Detector: Cops

A 72-year-old woman got caught with a pink stun gun in her purse when she tried to get through the metal detector at Joliet Central High School, police said.

Rose Lanier was charged with brandishing or concealing a weapon.

Lanier went to Joliet Central Tuesday morning to register a family member for high school, police said. Her purse was searched and security reportedly found a pink Vipertek stun gun.

Lanier explained that she carries the stun gun for protection, police said, but was still slapped slapped with the citation.
