Grifter Gets 3 Years For Final Four Fraud
The con man is already doing time in an Iowa prison.

An Iowa grifter got three years in prison for ripping off a Naperville man in a Final Four fraud.
Jeffrey John Swanson, 52, pleaded guilty during his arraignment in Will County court Monday. Swanson had been brought to Joliet from the Iowa prison where he is already locked up for a theft conviction.
Swanson was sentenced to three years in prison but will get credit for doing the time while he is locked up in Iowa.

Swanson scammed a Naperville man looking to buy Final Four tickets. The Naperville patsy wired Swanson the money for four tickets but ended up getting ripped off.
After Patch broke the story of Swanson’s March malice, he sent sent a letter from the Iowa prison where he was residing and said he wanted to pay his victim back.

“I am willing to make full restitution and court costs, fees or fines if this can be done while I am in Iowa D.O.C.,” Swanson said in his letter to the Will County clerk of court.
In his letter, Swanson said he had been “informed” that he was wanted in Will County, that he was “wanting to get this matter resolved as soon as possible,” and asked about the possibility of pleading guilty while he was still in an Iowa prison.
