Schoolgirl-Accosting Pervert Captured: Cops

An alleged pervert wanted for allegedly accosting a 12-year-old schoolgirl and trying to force her toward his exposed privates has been captured.

Sergio Reyes-Lopez, 35, was jailed on charges of public indecency, exploiting a child, aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest.

The girl was walking near the corner of Casseday Avenue and Benton Street shortly after 7 a.m. Friday when the Reyes-Lopez grabbed her by the arm and pulled down his pants, exposing his penis, police said. Reyes-Lopez allegedly tried forcing the girl toward his crotch as he said something to her in Spanish but she broke free and ran for the bus stop, police said.

Reyes-Lopez reportedly took off in the other direction, cutting through yards as he headed west.

Reyes-Lopez lives in a basement apartment near the scene of the crime, according to jail records.

Reyes-Lopez was previously arrested on a charge of public indecency when he allegedly exposed himself to a woman in June 2009. The case was dismissed when the victim failed to appear in court for his trial.
