Slammers Team With Anthony Rizzo Foundation

The money will go to the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation.

JOLIET, IL — The Slammers have teamed up with the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation in hopes of raising $50,000 in time for Slammers Pediatric Cancer Awareness Night.

"The Slammers will raise awareness for childhood cancer and Slammers General Manager Heather Mills has pledged to shave her head if the Slammers can raise $50,000 before the end of the game on Saturday, June 24," the team said in a press release.

The money will go to Rizzo's foundation. The organization raises funds for help families of children battling cancer.

The Slammers have set up a GoFundMe page to accept donations. Reserved tickets for the June 24 game can be purchased using the code “Rizzo.” For each $10 ticket sold, $5 will go to the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation.

A silent auction will be held during the game. Baseballs signed by Rizzo and Hall-of-Famers Andre Dawson and Johnny Bench will be among the memorabilia on the block.
