Slamming Drinks At Slammers’ Stadium — Brothers Broke Into Ballpark To Fill Up On Alcohol: Cops

The two men slipped into an empty Slammers' stadium to drink their fill of stolen alcohol, police said.

JOLIET, IL — Two brothers slipped into an empty Slammers’ stadium prior to the season’s home opener and filled up on stolen alcohol, police said, but were caught on surveillance video and later apprehended as they were walking along on the near west side.

Hunter Carlstrom, 30, and little brother William Carlstrom, 22, who both live at the Star Inn on West Jefferson Street, broke into the downtown ballpark late Sunday night, police said.

The Carlstrom brothers pillaged concession stands and coolers, police said, and even drank from the beer taps before departing early Monday morning.

An officer reportedly spotted the Carlstroms near the corner of Jefferson and Wilcox streets about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. Recognizing them as the ballpark booze bandits from a surveillance image, he took them into custody, police said.

The Carlstrom brothers were booked into the Will County jail. They were scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
