JOLIET, IL — The Troy Middle School symphonic band was one of only three bands in the state to earn the highest rating, “Superior with High Honors,” at April’s Illinois Grade School Music Association State Festival.
According to TMS band director William Goetz, the band’s achievement was earned after it received the highest possible score from all three of the competition’s judges. This is the seventh year in a row the TMS symphonic band has been awarded honors at the competition.
