Get Out: Hungry Caterpillars, Maple Syrup, Cover Bands

Here's a look at events going on in and around Naperville this weekend.

Whether it’s about the food, the kids or the music, this weekend has a little bit of this and that.

North Central College continues to be a source for local events. And what would Naperville be without the DuPage Children’s Museum or Anderson’s Bookshop? Both offer so many events for all ages.

Friday Fish Fry

If you are Catholic and abstaining from meat or it you have never experienced the fish fry, then grab the family and head over to the Knights of Columbus fish fry. Diner can choose from fish or pizza and then there is dessert.! And, it is all at a very modest price.

Wee! It’s Wii

The  is hosting open sessions of Wii Games. So, Dance Dance, get your Beatles on or show you know a thing or two about the Mario Bros. The event takes place at 3 p.m.

Pajama Party

The is hosting the Knuffle Bunny cast for stories and pajama party. This will be an extra special Family Fun Friday night at the museum. Things kick off at 6 p.m.

Saturday Super Saturday

Anderson’s Bookshop is host to a special program that will involve activities and a story time tied in with Eric Carle’s A Very Hungry Caterpillar. The event begins at 11 a.m. and will take place in both the Naperville and Downers Grove stores.

Barbershop Without the Haircuts

The West Towns Chorus will perform barbershop music but it’s not your grandfather’s barbershop. Also performing will be quartets After Hours and Shades of Jade.

Cover tunes

If you want to hit a bar for some drinks and relive the “good old days” consider spending some time at where U.F.C. will be performing cover songs. The night gets going at 9:30 p.m.

Sunday Enjoy the Arboretum

The Morton Arboretum will be hosting the "Art of Making Maple Syrup." Learn how to tap a tree and taste that fresh sap, along with the finished product. This is the last weekend to enjoy this program.
