Chick-Fil-A Murder Suspect Deemed Unfit For Trial: Report
The 20-year-old man will be placed into secure treatment until he is fit to stand trial, according to a report.

OSWEGO, IL — The 20-year-old man charged in connection with the murder of a delivery driver at the Oswego Chick-fil-A was found to be unfit for trial, according to a report from WSPY News.
Darryl Lee Jr., of Kankakee, will be placed into secure treatment with the Illinois Department of Human Services until he is fit to stand trial, the outlet reported. To be unfit means Lee is currently unable to assist in his own defense.
"He will be transferred when there's a bed available, and that's sort of the problem in Illinois right now," he told WSPY News. "There's not enough beds available for inpatient treatment," Weis said. "So he will stay at the Kendall County Jail until the bed becomes available, and then he'll be transferred to a locked, secured facility, which is a correctional institution for mental illness, and then brought back here. So, no, he will not be walking the streets. He will not be out. He will be in a secured facility the entire time."

Lee was scheduled to appear for a fitness hearing Dec. 30, but it was delayed because he refused to be transported to the courthouse.
The defendant is facing charges of first-degree murder, armed robbery, armed violence, building burglary, concealment of a homicidal death and aggravated battery after a double stabbing Oct. 22 at the fast-food restaurant on Route 34 in Oswego.

Tracey J. Land, 52, of Bridgeview, was making a delivery inside the restaurant when he was stabbed to death by Lee, who then attacked two maintenance workers outside the business about two hours later, according to Oswego police.
If one full year passes and Lee is not found fit for trial, he could be committed to a mental facility for an extended period, according to WSPY.
