$3K LSD, Pot Stash Earns Palatine Teen Probation In Plea Deal
The 18-year-old also was fined more than $2,800 last week after pleading guilty in connection with a drug task force arrest in January.

PALATINE, IL — A Palatine teen received two years probation as part of a plea deal following an arrest earlier this year in which police allegedly found more than $3,000 worth of LSD, marijuana and drug accessories in his basement bedroom while executing a search warrant. Noah Smith, 18, also was fined $2,809 after he pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance Thursday, the Daily Herald reports.
Smith's plea and his sentencing were part of the Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities program, which allows nonviolent offenders a chance to avoid prison if they receive treatment for their drug abuse, the report stated. He orginally was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and could've faced a maximum of 30 years in prison if convicted.
