• Man Charged With Kidnapping, Sexual Assault In Christmas Eve Incident: Palatine PD (patch.com) — Palatine police say a 28-year-old local man faces kidnapping, aggravated criminal sexual assault, and aggravated domestic battery charges after a reported domestic incident on Christmas Eve involving a 26-year-old woman. He is being held in custody pending a January court date, and authorities are urging anyone facing domestic violence in Palatine to seek help through law enforcement or the WINGS Program hotline. 
• New Grand Rapids Community College president will take over in 2026 (mlive.com) — A longtime higher education leader who once served as a dean at Harper College in Palatine has been chosen as the next president of Grand Rapids Community College in Michigan.
