6 Baggies of Cocaine Found During Palatine Traffic Stop: Cops
Michael Rayborn, 45, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance after he was pulled over Monday.

PALATINE, IL — A Palatine man faces drug charges after officers discovered cocaine-filled baggies during a traffic stop earlier this week, according to police. Michael Rayborn, 45, of the 300 block of East Colfax Street, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor driving with a suspended license. He also was cited for driving without insurance and driving with a suspended vehicle registration. His next court date is scheduled for Wednesday.
According to Palatine police, Rayborn was pulled over for "an equipment violation" at around 10 p.m. Monday, June 19, at Eas Wood and North Schubert streets. A background check during the traffic stop revealed that Rayborn had been driving with a suspended vehicle registration, and he was arrested. A search of Rayborn's vehicle after the arrest uncovered six baggies containing a "white, rock-like substance," police said. A field test determined that substance to be cocaine, and he was charged with the felony drug count, according to authorities.
