Bartender Sentenced In Palatine Fight Involving 'Idol' Finalist

The 33-year-old man pleaded guilty Wednesday as part of a deal with prosecutors.

PALATINE, IL — A Palatine bartender pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge in connection with a brawl at a village nightspot that involved former "American Idol" finalist Haley Reinhart during a brawl at a Palatine nightspot last year. Adam Sobanski, 33, was sentencd to probation, anger management and Cook County's work alternative program instead of jail as part of a plea deal with prosecutors in the case, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The fight happened during the early hours of July 8, 2017, at the Lamplighter Inn, 60 N. Bothwell St., after Reinhart, 27, and her group were asked to leave the nightspot after they knocked over a table. As Reinhart, who is a Wheeling native, was beling led out by security, she began to argue with the staff. That argument escalated, and she was accused of punching a bouncer in the face.

According to Palatine police, Sobanski became involved in the brawl, and he was accused him of putting Alan Chislof, of Wheeling, in a headlock while Chislof was arguing with a bouncer. Chislof suffered a concussion, as well as multiple injuries to his head and face from the altercation.

In March, Reinhart was found guilty of battery, according to Journal & Topics Media. She was ordered to pay $639 in fines and court costs and will be able to clear her record in two years.

Originally, Sobanski was charged with six counts of aggravated battery in the incident. He eventually pleaded down to misdemeanor battery, and the felony charges were dropped Wednesday, the Tribune reports. Chislof agreed with the sentencing, the report added.
