Bartlett Woman IDd As Driver Killed In SUV, Blue Line Train Crash
Illinois State Police have identified a 70-year-old Bartlett woman as the victim of a March 12 crash involving an SUV and Blue Line Train.

ROSEMONT, IL — A Bartlett woman has been identified as the driver killed in a crash Tuesday night involving her SUV and a Blue Line train in Rosemont. According to The Daily Herald, Illinois State Police said just after 9 p.m., Sara Giancola, 70, was driving a 2014 Ford SUV in the far left lane of westbound I-190 when she lost control and the SUV went down an embankment at Mannheim Road. The news report said part of SUV stopped on CTA tracks before the front of the vehicle was hit by an oncoming Blue Line train, according to police. Illinois State Police said Giancola was pronounced dead due to injuries from the crash, according to The Daily Herald.
Two of the seven passengers on the train, identified as 27-year-old Christine E. Eismann, of Oviedo, Florida, and 52-year-old Adjei Faustino, of Chicago, along with the train's conductor, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to state police.
The Daily Herald reported the crash led to traffic along I-190 for hours, and CTA suspended service between the O'Hare and Harlem Avenue stops as crews worked to clear the scene and buses assisted stranded travelers. All lanes on the interstate weren't reopened until 1 a.m. Wednesday, according to the news report, and Blue Line trains resumed service in the area around 2:15 a.m. according to the CTA's Twitter account.
