Boy Trapped In Claw Machine Needs Rescue By Palatine Firefighters
The 3-year-old was unhurt Thursday after he somehow climbed into the arcade game at a village laundromat.

PALATINE, IL — A toddler needed a rescue from Palatine firefighters Thursday when the boy became stuck inside a claw machine at a village laundromat Thursday. The 3-year-old was not hurt, and it's not clear how he ended up inside the arcade game among the stuffed animals and other prizes.
The Palatine Fire Department received a call Thursday night that a boy had been trapped inside a claw machine at a laundromat in the 1200 block of West Dundee Road, according to WGN News. The first responders dismantled the top of the machine, and a firefighter went in head first while his colleagues held his legs.
The boy was then pulled out of the machine and given to his mother. No injuries were reported, and the child was only sweaty and upset from being trapped inside the machine.

"We have not had one of these before, so it was a first for us. But we're used to unusual calls so we've adapted over time," Palatine Fire Department Capt. Robert Kluzek told WGN.
How the boy wound up inside the game is a mystery, but firefighters think he climbed up through the machine's prize chute, the report added.
