Durty Nellie's Closed After Fire
The fire that broke out Friday morning near a grill in the kitchen has closed Durty Nellie's.

PALATINE, IL — The fire that broke out near a grill in the kitchen of Durty Nellie's had closed the popular Palatine pub. It is not clear when it will reopen.
The fire broke out at about 10:15 a.m. Friday morning at the southwest corner of the restaurant, said Palatine police spokesman Commander Bill Nord. Passersby reported seeing flames and smoke billowing from the building.
Officials evacuated six people from the restaurant's kitchen, the Daily Herald reported. The fire appears to have started near the hood, grill and duct area, so firefighters battled with a gas-fed fire until the gas was shut off.
