PALATINE, IL — A Palatine student is being charged with a felony stemming from an investigation that began Feb. 4 by Palatine Police into the use of fraudulent student parking tickets at Fremd High School. Police said 18-year-old Christian Zukowski, of Hoffman Estates, was arrested Feb. 5 as a result of the investigation, accused of manufacturing and selling the fake parking permits for more than $200 each to his fellow students, according to information police received from school administration. That's when he was also charged with one felony county of forgery, police said.
According to the school's website, seniors can sign up for one semester of parking at the school for the school year. The cost of an actual permit is $75 for the semester. Permits cannot be sold, and are only valid if purchased through the school.
On Feb. 6, Zukowski was taken to the Cook County Third District Courthouse in Rolling Meadows where his bond was set at $5,000.
