Palatine "Hometown Pride Award" Winners Announced

The winners have been chosen in four different categories for the Palatine Hometown Pride Awards.

The Village of Palatine has honored local residents and business owners for beautifying their surroundings for the last 20 years with the presentation of Hometown Pride Awards. 

This year, 18 nominations were received among the four different categories: Single-Family, Subdivision/Cul-de-Sac, Business and Doors of Palatine. The winners are:

Single-Family

  • 1st place: Mary Silvio, 100 block of S. Arlene Avenue
  • 2nd place: Harley and Susan White, 200 block of W. Slade Street
  • 3rd place: Joseph and Slawa Kosinski, 1300 block of N. Wellington Court

Subdivision/Cul-de-Sac

  • 1st place: Bridge View West - Home Owners Association
  • 2nd place: Williams Reserve Apartments - RMK Management
  • 3rd place: One Renaissance Place - Home Owners Association

Business

  • 1st place: Palatine Inn - Pete and Jimmy Sarantopolous
  • 2nd place: Little Sisters of the Poor - Diana Olsen
  • 3rd place: Cabinets Plus - Dave Kunzweiler

Doors of Palatine

  • 1st place: Alicja Kordek, 400 block of Willow Wood Drive
  • 2nd place: Willow Creek #4 - Garden Committee, 900 block of E. Kenilworth Avenue
Photos were submitted for each of the nominated properties, which were reviewed buy judges from the Palatine Beautification Commission.
