Palatine Police Arrest 16 During Holiday Patrolling Campaign
Palatine police arrested at least 16 people and issues dozens of more tickets in stepped-up holiday patrolling.

PALATINE, IL — Palatine police arrested at least 16 people and ticketed dozens more as part of its stepped-up patrolling during the holiday season.
Police from Palatine and other Illinois agencies cracked down on drivers from December 14 to January 2 as part of the "Click it or Ticket and Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign. The goal was to reduce the number of highway deaths by stopping drunk drivers from hitting the streets and by reminding people to buckle up while they drive.
In Palatine, more police patrolled areas during designated times and set up roadblocks to conduct safety checks, officials said in a news statement.

Police reported dozens of violations:
- 2 DUI arrests
- 62 seat belt citations
- 7 speeding citations
- 61 illegal use of cell phone while driving citations
- 2 no-insurance citations
- 33 other traffic related citations
- 8 suspended or revoked driver’s license arrests
- 2 drug arrests
- 3 felony/misdemeanor arrests
- 1 warrant for arrest
