Search Warrant Leads To Drug Charges For Palatine Felon
The Palatine Police Dept. said investigators found more than 100 grams of cocaine and other drugs while executing a search warrant.

PALATINE, IL — The Palatine Police Department said a man at the center of a recent narcotics investigation was arrested during a Sunday safety checkpoint conducted by police. According to a news release, investigators executed a search warrant on Thursday, March 14, at the home of 31-year-old Brian G. Lister, in the 1300 block of W. Deer Court in Palatine. Police said Lister, a convicted felon, wasn't home at the time of the search and refused to cooperate with Palatine police investigators, who found more than 100 grams of cocaine, more than 30 pills of methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA), commonly called ecstasy or Molly, and several other substances that are pending lab results.
According to police, investigators also found several items of drug paraphernalia, digital scales, narcotic sales packaging, money, and a Winchester 410-model shotgun. Police added that Lister didn't have a Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card.
Police said Lister was traveling westbound on Algonquin Road near the entrance to Harper College just before 1:30 p.m., March 17, when police were conducting a roadside safety checkpoint as part of the St. Patrick's Day Holiday "Click It or Ticket" and "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" enforcement campaign. That's when Lister was directed to drive into the checkpoint screening area, and was recognized by police thanks to information provided to them by investigators.
