Severe Thunderstorms Sweeping Through Northwest Cook County
Severe thunderstorm warnings in effect until 6:45 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Severe thunderstorms are currently sweeping through northwest Cook County, according to the National Weather Service.Â
In addition to Cook County, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings also have been issued for DuPage, Eastern Kane and Kendall in northeast Illinois, Lake, McHenry and Will counties. They are in effect until 6:45 p.m.Â
The storms are reportedly moving east at 60 miles per hour, with hazardous wind gusts of up to 70 miles per hour.Â
According to the National Weather Service, residents should expect considerable tree damage, and damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs and outbuildings.Â
