“The 2013 Palatine Stingray Travelers U12 girls softball concluded another successful tournament over the Father’s Day weekend with a 4-1 hard fought championship victory over a very good Diamond Sports Academy Y2K squad in the 26 team Trevian Classic in Wilmette.
The Stingrays outscored their opponents 34–2 in the tournament behind sound defense, powerful pitching, and aggressive hitting. The Lady Stingray Travelers have now won five of the seven tournaments they have played in this season compiling an impressive 40 and 5 record during that span, with a 30 and 3 record in tournament play. Three of the tournament victories were in USSSA, NSA, and ASA national championship qualifiers. All of the girls on the team played PYBS house ball and are from either the Fremd or Palatine high school district which makes the season even more successful considering many games have been played against clubs that recruit from this region.
