'Keep The Wreath Red' In Romeoville This Holiday Season

Each time there is a holiday-related fire through Jan. 1, one red bulb on the wreaths at the fire stations will be replaced by a white one.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville Fire Department is reminding residents about holiday fire safety, and to help "keep the wreath red."

Each time there is a holiday-related fire from Dec. 1 to Jan. 1, one red bulb on the wreaths at the Romeoville fire stations will be replaced by a white one, according to the Village Facebook page.

  • Unplug your holiday lights before going to bed
  • Extinguish candles before leaving home or going to bed
  • Avoid overloading circuits and extension cords
  • Keep your tree and holiday decorations away from heat sources like fireplaces, space heaters, candles and heating ducts
