ROMEOVILLE, IL — With the upcoming New Year's holiday, there are several closures planned for local agencies and organizations in Romeoville. While New Year's Eve falls on the weekend, on Sunday; New Year's Day is Monday.

It's a good idea to double-check or call ahead if you're looking to stop by any stores or restaurants on New Year's Day.

Here's a look at some closures in Romeoville:

  • No refuse pick-up on New Year's Day. Collection will be one day later than your usual pick-up day for the remainder of the week.
  • Romeoville Village Hall will be closed on Jan. 1 and Jan. 2.
  • Romeoville Recreation Center, Aquatic Center, and the Athletic and Event Center are closed on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
  • The Fit4 Life Fitness Center is open from 8 a.m. to noon on Dec. 31. It is closed on Jan. 1.
  • Valley View School District student resume classes on Jan. 8.
  • White Oak Library-Romeoville Branch is closed on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
  • Local post office locations will also be closed on Jan. 1, and regular mail will not be delivered.
