Steering Wheel Stolen From Car, Romeoville Police Say

Someone stole a steering wheel out of a car that had a window left open.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A steering wheel was stolen out of a car in Romeoville, according to police. It is unclear if the steering wheel was attached to the car, but it was removed from the car through an open window, police said in an incident report.

That is just one of the crime incidents included in the Romeoville Police Departments incidents report spanning late September and early October. The department releases periodic crime arrests and incidents.

Sept. 23, 10:48 P.M.

A retail theft was reported in the 1200 block of Lakeview. Unknown person(s) took two twelve packs of beer valued at $31.38 from the business.

Oct.1, 10:43 P.M.

A burglary to motor vehicle was reported in the 400 block of South Weber Road. Unknown person(s) took a steering wheel from a vehicle that was parked with a window left open.

Oct. 3, 1:35 A.M.

A criminal damage to property was reported in the 400 block of North Weber. Unknown person(s) broke the front door window of the business. It appears that no one entered the business.

Oct. 3, 1:45 A.M.

An attempted burglary was reported in the 400 block of North Weber. Unknown person(s) broke the front door window of the business. Cabinets were rummaged through but it appears nothing was taken.

Oct. 4, 9:03 A.M.

A criminal damage to property was reported in the 400 block Dalhart. Unknown person(s) broke the rear window of a parked vehicle.
