Teenage Girl In Fair Condition After Accidentally Shot In Oakland Neighborhood
The girl was shot inside a building early Tuesday morning, Chicago police say.
OAK LAWN, IL — A teenage girl was accidentally shot inside a building early Tuesday morning in Chicago’s Oakland neighborhood.
Chicago police responded to a call of a person shot in the 4100 block of South Ellis Avenue around 3:14 a.m. A girl, approximately 15 to 17 years old, suffered a gunshot wound near her right eye. She was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital and is listed in fair condition.
Preliminary investigation indicates the shooting was the result of an accidental discharge. A weapon was recovered on the scene. Area One detectives are investigating.
