2 District 303 Schools Win Blue Ribbon Awards

ST. CHARLES, IL — Two St. Charles District 303 schools have received 2022 National Blue Ribbon Schools awards.

Norton Creek Elementary School in West Chicago, which also houses D303's RISE program for students with disabilities, and St. Charles North High School have been picked for the prestigious award, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona announced last week. The schools are among 17 honorees picked across the state and 296 nationwide.

"North Stars know this is in recognition of your greatness and your uniqueness and we will continue to find ways to support your success," said Shanna Lewis, principal at St. Charles North High School, in a video announcement posted on the D303 Facebook page. "To our staff, know this award is recognizing your hard work dedication and compassion you bring each day for our students. St. Charles North students and staff are amazing. I've know this since the first day I started here. And now the nation knows."

Tony White, principal at Norton Creek, also lauded the accomplishments of students and staff in a video announcement.

"I want to take this moment to thank our incredible staff and our awesome eagles for all of your hard work that made this honor possible," White said.

Both St. Charles North High and North Creek Elementary schools received recognition as exemplary high performing schools as part of the National Blue Ribbon program.
