44 Cars In Ditch During Slippery Tuesday Morning Commute In Kane Co.

The Kane County Sheriff's Office responded to several crashes Tuesday morning.

KANE COUNTY, IL — Slippery road conditions lead to several crashes in Kane County Tuesday morning, authorities said.

From midnight to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, the Kane County Sheriff's Office was called to assist 44 drivers who drove their cars into ditches across the county, said Kane County Undersheriff Amy Johnson. In addition, there was one accident with injuries and four property damage collisions.

Ice-covered roadways lead businesses, government agencies and schools to close Tuesday morning. Conditions on roadways improved as temperatures began to warm, Johnson said.
