Blaze Reported On Third-Floor Apartment Deck

ST. CHARLES, IL — The St. Charles Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire reported on the deck of a third-floor apartment in the city Friday evening.
The St. Charles Fire Department responded to the blaze at about 6 p.m. at 1360 Brook St. in St. Charles after learning about the fire from a resident who does not live in the unit but saw the fire and activated the building's fire alarm.
The blaze was quickly put out by firefighters first arriving at the scene. No one was injured in the fire, fire officials said.

The fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damage. The apartment is current habitable but the decks are no longer usable, according to the news release.
