City Of St. Charles: 'Be Careful' In Weekend Winter Weather

What to expect in St. Charles and Kane County during the wintry weekend, and tips on how to stay safe.

ST. CHARLES, IL — The City of St. Charles is urging everyone to be careful driving as a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for St. Charles and the rest of Kane County through 6 a.m. Saturday thanks to another round of winter weather headed our way, according to the NWS. According to the National Weather Service, residents can expect accumulating snow development Friday afternoon, and this will change to a wintry mix with slippery roads by night. On Saturday, residents can expect to see light rain and snow early, before the possibility of wind and colder temperatures with gusty snow in the afternoon.

The Kane County Sheriff's office urges everyone to use extreme caution by remembering a few simple rules when driving in ice and/or snow.

Although Sunday and Monday are expected to be dry, they will be cold thanks to wind chills ranging from -10 to -20 Sunday morning, and -5 to -15 early Monday.
