Driving Instructor Convicted Of Sex Assault Found In Hungary

Paul Bocska was convicted on four counts of criminal sexual assault and 12 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

ST. CHARLES, IL — A 58-year-old man convicted in a sex assault case has been located in Hungary.

Paul Bocska, of the 2000 block of Marlowe Boulevard, was found guilty during a trial he did not show up for in April, Shaw Local News is reporting. He was convicted on four counts of criminal sexual assault and 12 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

His lawyer, Liam Dixon, says Bocska did not attend his trial because he learned he had colon cancer, according to media reports. Paperwork has been filed requesting a new trial and a hearing is scheduled for July on the matter.

Meanwhile, Bocska is in custody in Hungary as officials work to extradite him back to the U.S.

Bocska was an instructor at Drive Now Driving School in St. Charles when authorities linked him to the sex assault of a student. The assaults happened in April and May 2021, authorities said.
