Fire Does $100K Damage To St. Charles Home, Displaces Residents: FD

No one was at home at the time of the fire, which severely damaged the residence in the 3400 block of Greenwood Lane, officials said.

ST. CHARLES, IL — No one was injured in a house fire that has left some St. Charles residents without a home after the blaze did an estimated $100,000 in damage on Thursday night, fire officials said.

The fire broke out at 7:40 p.m. on Thursday at the home in the 3400 block of Greenwood Lane, St. Charles fire officials said. No one was home at the time the fire started, and local fire officials said that the fire broke out on the second floor of the home.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire, which was extinguished about 30 minutes after it started.
