Glass, Ceramic Orbs Hidden At Forest Preserve, Fine Line Arts Center
The 2023 Great Orb Hunt is underway in St. Charles.

ST. CHARLES, IL — The Great Orb Hunt has been underway at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve for more than a month and there's still plenty of orbs that still need to be found.
The Kane Countty Forest Preserve District has teamed up with Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles to make the hunt possible. Employees with Fine Line as well as staff with LeRoy Oakes have hidden the hand-crafted glass and ceramic orbs on the grounds of Fine Line, 37w570 Bolcum Road, St. Charles, and LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean Strest, St. Charles.
The hunt started on Aug. 28, and 33 orbs remain hidden, according to a weekend post on the Fine Line Creative Arts Center Facebook page. Staff with Fine Line are encouraging residents to walk or bike around Fine Line and LeRoy Oakes to see if they can find one, which is theirs to keep.

Residents are encouraged to only keep one orb and to return any additional orbs to the place where it was found so someone else can find it. Those who find an orb are also asked to register it online so Fine Line can have an "accurate orb count."
"We currently show 33 orbs waiting to be found. Our figure may not be 100% accurate, but we know orbs are out there; we hid them yesterday," according to the weekend post on the Fine Line Facebook page. "Happy Hunting!"
