'Greatest' St. Charles Mom Has 'Kind & Generous Heart,' Daughter Says

ST. CHARLES, IL— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

My mom is by far the greatest! Even at 43 years old, she still makes it her job to take care of me and my siblings. Her kind and generous heart are that of no one else I've ever met. Growing up, I knew I had a great mom, but not until I became a mom myself did I realize how truly amazing she was. She made everything, from holidays and birthdays to every day events, special. Our house was always a place our friends wanted to be because of my mom. She welcomed everyone as if they were her own and showed them warmth and caring that they may not have known they needed. To this day, there is still nothing quite the same as being with my mom.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

My mom actually hates the spotlight. She's the kind of lady that likes to give anonymously and stay behind the scenes. This is precisely why she deserves the recognition. Every now and then she should take some recognition for the amazing person she is.
