Kane Co. Forest Preserve Hosts Nature Dog Programs

The programs offer a unique opportunity to socialize your dog.

From Forest Preserve District of Kane County: Take a hike with your furry, four-legged friend during our naturalist-guided nature program series.

Forest Preserve District naturalists will cover trail etiquette for dog-walkers while providing a unique opportunity to socialize your dog. We’ll also have fun identifying some of the plants, animals, tracks and trails that we come across.

“Nature Dogs” programs are offered on the following dates and locations:

1) Monday, June 11; 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Burnidge Forest Preserve, located at 38W235 Big Timber Rd., Elgin.

2) Saturday, July 28; 9-10 a.m. at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, located at 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles.

3) Sunday, Aug. 26; 9-10 a.m. at Muirhead Springs Forest Preserve, located at 42W855 Bahr Rd., Hampshire.

Note: All dogs must have current vaccinations for rabies, distemper and parvovirus. Only one dog per participant. Pets must be leashed at all times.

Advance registration is required. Registration fee is $5 per dog, per session. Call 630-444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com to register.
