Man Used Tracking Device On Ex-Girlfriend: Cops

The man is accused of texting his former girlfriend after being told to end contact, and following her with a tracking device, reports said.

KANE COUNTY, IL — An Elk Grove Village man was charged with violating an order of protection June 1 after his ex-girlfriend reportedly found a tracking device under the back passenger seat of her car, the Kane County Chronicle said, citing Kane County Sheriff's Office reports and court records. According to the news source, 43-year-old Oscar Nevarez, of the 600 block of Cutter Lane, is accused of texting his former girlfriend several times after being told to end contact, and following her using the tracking device hidden in her car.

Nevarez has an active order of protection against him in Cook County, as his ex-girlfriend lives in Schaumburg. The Kane County Chronicle said, according to reports from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, Nevarez's former girlfriend called police June 1 claiming he came to the address of a house party she was attending in Elgin Township near St. Charles.

Nevarez posted 10 percent of a $10,000 bond, and his next court appearance is set for July 17, the Kane County Chronicle reports.
