ST. CHARLES, IL — Liz Thorn, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 73 on October 9, 2019. Liz was born on January 5, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri to Jack and Elizabeth Ross.
Liz is survived by her husband, Jim Thorn; children, Darren (Pam) Becker, Michelle (Scott) Kalas, Michelle “Mikki” Callahan, Joe (Jennifer) Thorn, Kelley Thorn, Ellen (Dan) Cody, David Thorn (Deceased); grandchildren, Amy, Ashley, Nathan, Katherine, Logan, Colby, Eli, Darla, Will, Maddy, Caroline and Kilian; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie.
She was loved and admired for her warm, kind, gentle and loving spirit. Liz enjoyed sci-fi, good food, cats, and hosting and celebrating the holidays with her family.

Liz was the office manager and bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Tri-Star, before she worked to retirement at Houghton Mifflin Publishing.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19th at Redeemer Fellowship, 1125 Oak Street, St. Charles, IL.
