Spiders, Leaves Topics Of Forest Preserve Programs
The Forest Preserve District of Kane County is accepting registrants for its fall Little Naturalists and Nature Tykes programs.

ST. CHARLES, IL — Insects, Spiders and Leaves, will be the themes for fall’s preschooler nature programs by the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, according to a news release from the forest preserve district. In Nature Tykes, 3-year olds explore the natural world through a variety of activities with their parent or caregiver.
Sessions include stories, nature hikes, songs, games or crafts. On Thursday, Sept. 26, “Insect Wonderland,” will be our theme. On Thursday, Oct. 25, “Spider Mania,” will be our theme, and on Thursday, Nov. 21, “Leaf-O-Rama,” will be our theme. Nature Tykes programs run from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Creek Bend Nature Center. Registration is $5 per child, per session.
Little Naturalists is the Forest Preserve District’s hour-long program for 4-5-year olds. Children will discover the wonders of nature through a variety of activities including songs, hikes, stories, games or crafts, according to a news release.

This program is for the young participants. Parents, caregivers and siblings may enjoy the trails of LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, or wait inside the nature center, during the program. On Thursday, Sept. 26, the program topic will be “Insect Wonderland.” On Thursday, Oct. 24, our theme will be, “Spider Mania,” and on Thursday, Nov. 21, “Leaf-O-Rama,” will be our theme. Little Naturalists programs run from 1-2 p.m. at Creek Bend Nature Center. Registration is $5 per child, per session.
