Spirit Halloween St. Charles To Host Sensory Needs Shopping Night
These local Spirit Halloween stores are making Halloween accessible to all with sensory needs with dedicated shopping night.
ST. CHARLES, IL — Local Chicago Spirit Halloween stores including a St. Charles location want to make the spooky fun accessible to everyone this season, and will soon host a sensory shopping experience for those with sensory needs. According to a release sent to Patch, Spirit Halloween located at 3880 E. Main Street, St. Charles, will be closed to the general public the evening of Sunday, Sept. 29 so shoppers with sensory needs can shop for Halloween costumes, accessories and home décor in a calmer environment. The sensory shopping experience will run from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., without the store's usual spooky sounds, moving animatronics and bright lights, the release said.
Other Chicago area locations hosting this event at the same day and time include Spirit Halloween in Melrose Park, 9200 W. North Avenue, and Spirit Halloween in Southgate Market, 1101 S. Canal Street, Chicago.
Also happening this fall, Spirit of Children, Spirit Halloween's program behind more than $1 million raised for Chicago hospitals since 2007, is hosting nearly 100 Halloween parties at partner hospitals so pediatric patients, who otherwise wouldn’t be able to participate in Halloween celebrations, can enjoy the fun of the season, according to the release.
