St. Charles Among Best IL Cities For Families: Study

ST. CHARLES, IL — St. Charles has made the list of Illinois' best cities to raise a family, according to a recent study by WalletHub.

St. Charles came in high at No. 21. Much of the northwest suburbs made the list, which is based on a number of factors like playgrounds per capita, attractions, median family income, affordable housing, crime rates and many others.

These factors are among 21 that WalletHub researchers used to compile the data, all organized into four major dimensions: 1) family life and fun, 2) education, health and safety, 3) affordability and 4) socio-economics. The rankings included 222 of Illinois' 1,299 municipalities.

St. Charles ranked above average in all four dimensions, and ranked high enough to put it in No. 21. Its best category is affordability, where it came in No. 21. Family life and fun are where St. Charles ranked the lowest, but it was still above average at No. 21.
