ST. CHARLES, IL — The St. Charles Planning and Development Committee is considering allowing a portion of Walnut Avenue to close for the summer to make room for outdoor dining.

The Kane County Chronicle is reporting a portion of the street from Riverside to Second avenues would be closed from April 15 through Oct. 31, allowing the sidewalk to be converted to an outdoor patio for Flagship on the Fox and the street to be used for dining. The committee is also considering a temporary license agreement to allow the Arcada Theatre to use a portion of the street for bus parking.

Several stopped out to Monday's meeting to voice their concerns regarding the street closure and, after discussing the change at length, the committee opted to table the discussion until an April 8 meeting, according to the article.
