ST. CHARLES, IL — St. Charles District 303 will begin looking at how to address capacity needs at its two middle schools as the number of students is supposed to outpace capacity at the schools in the coming years.

A study completed by RSP & Associates, a consulting firm hired by the district last August to complete enrollment and capacity studies, forecasts there will be 315 more students attending Thompson and Wredling middle schools in the next five years, according to the Kane County Chronicle. That would bring total enrollment to 2,958 students, and capacity at the middle schools is 2,827.

While presenting its findings to the school board's business services committee Thursday, RSP suggested the following solutions to address the space shortage: realigning boundaries, adding physical space, implementing alternate scheduling to increase classroom utilization, and relocating specialized educational programming, according to the article.
