St. Charles Officers Save Possum Hanging Off Bridge: Police

Two officers helped get the possum off the Prairie Street Bridge last week.

ST. CHARLES, IL — It's definitely not a call local police get every day.

Last week, officers Coffield and Hohman with the St. Charles Police Department were called to the Prairie Street Bridge for a report of a possum hanging off the side, according to a post on the St. Charles Police Department Facebook page.

The officers were able to get the "scared possum" safely off the bridge. And a local resident was able to capture some pictures of their efforts, police said.

"The little guy was fine and scampered off after the ordeal," according to the Facebook post.
