District 303 School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in District 303 is August 23. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. District 303 has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 9/1: Teachers’ Institute Days (No School for Students)
• 9/4: Labor Day Holiday (No School)

October

• 10/6: School Improvement Day (No School for Students)
• 10/9: Columbus Day Holiday (No school)
• 10/27: End of 1st Quarter (Middle, High Schools)

November

• 11/10: End of 1st Trimester (Elementary Schools)
• 11/20: K-12 Parent/Teacher Conferences (No school for students)
• 11/21: K-8 Parent/Teacher Conferences (No school for students)
• 11/21: High School Teachers’ In-service (No school students)
• 11/22: Non Attendance Day (Offices Open)
• 11/23-24: Thanksgiving Break (No school)

December

• 12/25-1/5: Winter Break (No school)

January

• 1/8: School Resumes
• 1/15: Martin Luther King, Jr Holiday (No school)
• 1/18: End of 2nd Quarter (Middle, High Schools)
• 1/19: Teachers’ Work Day (Middle, High Schools No students)
• 1/19: Teacher Institute Day (Elementary Schools No Students)

February

• 2/19: Presidents’ Day Holiday (No school)

March

• 3/1: End of 2nd Trimester (Elementary Schools)
• 3/2: Teacher Institute Day (Middle, High School No Students)
• 3/2: Teacher Work Day (Elementary Schools No Students)

• 6/4: Last Day for Students if no “Emergency Days” used
• 6/11: Last Day for Students if 5 “Emergency Days” used
