St. Charles Seeks Feedback On Downtown Parking

The St. Charles City Council approved a contract to conduct a comprehensive downtown parking study in June 2023.

ST. CHARLES, IL — City officials are requesting the public's input on downtown parking.

The city will be hosting an open house where residents can provide their feedback regarding parking in downtown St. Charles on Aug. 14 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the city council chambers at city hall, 2 East Main Street, St. Charles.

In June 2023, the St. Charles City Council approved a contract to conduct a comprehensive downtown parking study to provide insights and data on the current downtown parking environment as well as to recommend initiatives that will enhance the overall parking experience in the area.

"This is a significant step by the St. Charles City Council to improve the downtown parking experience for all visitors," according to a news release from the city of St. Charles.

For those unable to attend the open house, city officials plan to offer more opportunities in the future for residents to provide feedback about parking in downtown St. Charles. The city has partnered with Desman, a reputable firm specializing in parking consulting, design, planning, and restoration, to conduct a series of public engagement opportunities for the residents and downtown businesses, according to the news release.
